Is there a best bait for trout fishing? This question may be impossible to answer, but over the past twenty five years I have learned that certain types of trout bait are certainly better than others at catching trout. In this article I will outline these trout baits so that you can determine the best fish bait for you and you're trout fishing style. The best trout bait is more than likely among the choices listed below.

No matter what type of fish bait that's employed, whether it be a crank bait, a live fishing worm, or an artificial fly, the bait's effectiveness will be found largely in the skill that is provided by the angler. Whether you're talking about the speed and jerking motion with which a crank bait is retrieved, the manner in which you hook a worm, or the casting technique that is used to deliver a fly, the ultimate effectiveness of the bait that is used comes down to the angler and not the bait itself in many fishing situations.

With that being said, let's get down to the baits so that you can determine the best trout bait for your given trout fishing situation.

1. Crank Baits - Crank baits are easily one of the most popular fish baits of all time and these baits are also quite effective when it comes to trout fishing.
