The Rio Grande River offers a great rafting experience
Whenever you visit the town of port Antonio, make sure that you visit the Rio Grande so as to experience rafting. This rafting ride is approximately three hours from the start and it goes all the way down to the sea. You can just sit and enjoy the natural beauty of your surroundings and the natural bamboo raft that you will be on while you guide takes you slowly down the river. This is an exiting experience that is also very safe. Your ride will take you towering under many bamboo arches, leading you past some fern-shrouded groves, stone passageway covered with moss that is known as Lovers Rock and over rippling shoals.
Since the journey takes so long you will have the option of stopping at a sand bar and to order food or juice of your choice. You can also get a red stripe beer if you so desire which would be ice cold just to refresh you the way you like.
Your captain will be quite friendly and probably share a couple of interesting stories about the river with you. The amount of captains though, has reduced and so instead of having several rides a day it has now gone down to several rides a week.
These rafts were first used to transport bananas from the plantation to the harbor down in port Antonio. The rafting for fun was introduced by Errol Flynn who used them to race with his guest in the moonlight on the Rio Grande.

Rio Grande Valley $103.56 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles The Rio Grande Valley (RGV) or the Lower Rio Grande Valley, informally called The Valley, is an area located in the southernmost tip of South Texas. It lies along the northern bank of the Rio Grande, which separates Mexico from the United States. The Rio Grande Valley is not a valley, but a delta or floodplain containing many oxbow lakes or resacas formed from pinchedoff meanders in earlier courses of the Rio Grande. Early settlers from the Dust Belt, who came to capitalize off of unclaimed land, utilized the name The Magic Valley to appeal to investors. This named referred to the fact that this land was controlled by the US military after several failed civil uprisings by the people to protect their land and was surrounded by two figurative mountains that were military bases in Brownsville and Rio Grande City... The Magic element was attributed to the Rio Grande river which ran through, supposedly enriching the soil with minerals which made it prime for planting.
