Was unaware at time of purchasing that this 3rd issue of Dominion (SEASIDE) is an expansion game!! I had played Dominion before, and became instantly addicted, however, did NOT OWN the original Dominion myself. It would have been helpful to know this version of Dominion was an expansion, otherwise would've purchased the original, and then following in order. Just a tiny tid-bit to others who may miss that! Great addition to the basic game!
The basic Dominion game has been my husband's and my favorite since we got it a few months ago, and the Seaside expansion makes it even more interesting! Definitely recommend it if you've enjoyed the basic game.

No EXP needed, very fast learning curve
this is the 3rd expansion that makes you think about your NEXT turn
If you have the other 2 games, or just the CORE set, and you like it,
yhou will love Seaside.
I only gave it 3 stars for durability because its a card game.
If you dont take care of your cards (sleeving them is best but a bit expensive)
then its not going to hold up well. If you do take care of your games,
then it will be just fine.

This is great stuff
This game is a ton of fun. Every time you play it, you are almost forced to use a different strategy than the time before based on the cards that come out. This is a strategy game with a huge amount of replay value.
In comparison to the original Dominion set, I would say that this one is simply more...interesting. The cards often force you into a different mindset. The strategies used can be more off the wall and what your opponents do gets less predictable. In other words, if you like strategy games with small amounts of randomness, and lots of different pathways by which to finagle the victory, this one is for you.
I do have a couple of small critiques:
There are more 'parts' now. It is not just cards anymore, now there are mats and little tokens. So far this is fine, but I typically don't like this type of game bloat.
You can still only play with four players. I was honestly hoping that the expansion would have additional rules for six, but it doesn't. I have tried adding a few more Provinces to play with more than four, but the game seems to be built around four.

Excellent expansion to an excellent game
While i won't say Dominion is an educational game I will say it does have educational value. It teaches kids that self restraint is necessary if you want to be successful and emphasizes the importance of decisions. This means it is not a great game for you 5-6 year old who is learning to read but it is a great game for your nine year old who is learning the ins and outs of decision making. its a fun game that plays quick. You need to own Dominion (the original) or Dominion:Intrigue before purchasing this as this is an expansion to those games.
The new mechanics of the game are fun and definitely new and add a lot of extended life to the original game. A Great expansion pack but if I had to gripe on anything it would be the inclusion of small metal tokens, though easy to keep track of for grownups (i recommend small ziplock bags) little kids like to run off with them.
