Conso Trim
History of Conso
Originally a fashion millinery trimmings company known as Conso Products Company, Conso was founded in 1867 with its headquarters in Union, South Carolina. Using its expertise in the areas of design and fashion, Conso adapted its business to include trimmings for home design. As a result, Conso has become the world’s largest manufacturer of decorative trimmings for the home furnishings industry.
The Wm. Wright Co, has long been a manufacturer and marketer of various trimmings for clothing, crafts, and home decorating. In 2000, Conso joined forces with the Wm. Wright Company to further expand their selection of trimmings, which now include art and needle products under the name Boye, quilting products under the name EZ Quilting, and Bondex Iron-On products. Today, Conso offers the largest selection of stock items, including special need items designed for various sales markets.
Materials Used
Rayon, acetate, cotton, polyester, and UFAC-approved yarns can all be found at Conso, along with a variety of products in less traditional forms. Metal and glass beads, raffia, shells, and wood are also used in some of their non-traditional designs.
Current Standings
Through a worldwide sales force, its products are marketed to manufacturers, distributors, and retailers. Currently, Conso has production facilities in Coimbatore, India and Shanghai, China, the United Kingdom and Mexico. In addition, Wm. Wright Co., recently opened a center in Nashville, Tennessee that houses 350,000 square feet of state-of-the art supplies.
Over the past twelve years, Conso's products lines have been expanded to include decorative accessories and a number of new "Collections" of trimmings. This trend is a continuance of great strides to come from Conso.
