Like the winters our hair also needs protection from the heat and the UV rays of the summer sun. This is essential for our hair as the summer sun may cause a lot of damage to our hair and may leave a permanent effect on our hair. Therefore during the summers we need to be somewhat of extra protective towards our hair. This is needful for the protective maintenance of the hair. Here follows some tips that can help you in beating the summer heat for your hair.
1. Before getting out in the sun wear a hat or a scarf. This will help your hair by preventing direct exposure to the sun. But be sure that it is not too tight or it will restrict scalp circulation.
2. In case you need to remain for a log time in the sun and cannot wear a scarf or a hat, in that case use a sunscreen conditioner to your hair. And if sunscreen conditioners are not handy you can also use regular sunscreen but you must wash it off as soon as you reach home.

It is often seen that we are fond of swimming in the seawater during the summers. But you should remember that the summer sun and humidity added with chlorine and saltwater can cause a lot of damage to your hair. The hair cuticle gets damaged resulting in dry, drab, split, brittle or frizzy hair.
The chlorinated salty water gets soaked into your hair causing damage to your hair. It is always better to wear a swimming cap before getting into the seawater. Before getting into the seawater wet your hair with tap water so that the hair may soak less seawater.
