Of all the different techniques of fly fishing, nymph fishing is probably the most difficult. Because nymphs are fly fishing extremely small, beginners and pros have some problems with this fishing technique. However, knowing how to use this technique is extremely important for trout fishing, trout feed mainly on insects under the surface of the water.
A nymph is essentially an insect that has not yet fully developed. You will notice that the older adult insects and flies skim along the surface of the water, while nymphs are still living under water.
Why then fishing with nymph fishing so hard?
What a fisherman fly only when you use fly fishing nymphs is trying to imitate immature insects that live under water again. Therefore it is difficult and almost impossible for fishermen to see fish will fly. But in the dry fly fishing, fly fishing is on the water surface and the fisherman can easily see when a fish bites.
Another difficult aspect of fishing with nymph fly fishing is that the nymph being subsurface water, is more prone to bumping into rocks and trees, emulation of a fish taking the hook. It is also more likely to catch your fly nymph on the rocks and trees.
In addition, using nymphs fly fishing becomes a game in three dimensions rather than a two-dimensional game in the fishing sec. The fisherman should now have a precise distribution of both front and rear, left and right, and be able to accurately predict the depth at which the trout are.
Finally, trout are likely to take a nymph more subtle than a fly on the surface. They may not hit a drive, and therefore it can be difficult for the fisherman to say when he hung a trout.
As you can see above, fishing with nymphs fly fishing can be very difficult, and turns many people off this technique. However, now that you have a better understanding of the difficulties involved in nymph fishing and practice, the only problem you'll be catching too many fish (it is not really a problem?)
When fishing with nymphs fly fishing, you use essentially the same equipment as for fishing dry. The only additional items I recommend are small weight (to help sink your nymph a bit better), strike indicators (to be able to tell when you've hooked the trout!), and a nice pair of sunglasses fly fishing (from preferably polarized such that you would be able to see through the strike indicator and the bright orange glow in the water better).
There are many different methods of fishing with nymphs fly fishing, all art is a matter of preference and style. In this article I will talk briefly about two different methods.
First there is the basic method of using stolen nymphs fishing. It is easier for a beginner to use and is a great way to start.
In short, you cast it right, crossing the river and let the current take your nymph fly fishing downstream slowly until just below you downstream. At this stage, the nymph is pulled by the current and squirming to emulate a real nymph. You do not necessarily need a strike indicator with this method because your line will be a little tighter than it is being pulled by the current, so it will be much easier to feel a trout to take your plane.
So what's the problem with this method of starting? Well, a few things, actually. First, the only point of this method is likely draw strikes is just where your nymph begins to lift off from the river bottom. This considerably limits the scope of the effectiveness this method of fly fishing since the vast majority of the float of the nymph is "wasted" (trout are unlikely to take a nymph who is careening at odd angles in a river).
The only drawback of this method is that trout are much less likely to take a nymph fly fishing because it is traveling across the river while tied to a taut line.
The next technique, I will address method is the dead drift. This method can be used in three ways: through the barracks, by casting directly upstream, or your boat.
In the box, you can run as you would when fishing dry. Cast upstream and across the river, allowing your nymph fishing Fly to the "dead drift" to the greatest possible distance. Either a certain line so that the line is dragged.
You can do cast directly upstream so, or even your boat. Just make sure not to keep the line too tight, because it will not imitate a nymph real authenticity.
Overall, fishing fly fishing nymphs can be very difficult but very rewarding with perseverance and practice. By devoting some time to learn this technique, you will surely be able to maximize the amount of trout you catch and minimize these days when you exit and catch nothing.

The Teesdale Angler (Dodo Press) $18.77 I find it requisite to say something by way of preface to the Teesdale Angler, chiefly, because I wish it to be understood that my work, though bearing a local title, is intended as a help and guide to Trout fishers generally, especially those of Yorkshire, Durham, Westmoreland, and Cumberland. To the extent of my ability, I have endeavoured to point out, and explain the various methods, means, and devices, natural and artificial, for taking Trout. The Artificial Fly List will I trust be found amply sufficient for most Anglers. I have only to add, that my treatise is the result of a considerable amount of practical Angling experience, extending over a period of upwards of 35 years, and the chief object I have in view will be accomplished, if the hints and instruction contained in it, tend to aid the diversion, and promote the amusement of those who wish to be proficient in the art of a pleasing and fascinating recreation.
